TOLEDO
THE CITY OF THREE CULTURES
Located on the riverbanks of Tajo river and founded by Romans, Toledo was all through its history an important centre of Political and economic power. It was the capital of the northern Califat of Al Andalus and later on the capital of the Iberian Peninsula under Charles V. of Germany I. of Spain.
The peaceful coexistence of the three cultures gave Toledo a heritage of religious and secular buildings of an incalculable value.
Our trip, leaded by a local guide, historian of Art, will be a discovery of Christian, Jewish and Muslim Toledo thought the Cathedral, Synagogue and Mosque.
However, there are also some important examples of contemporary architecture to visit in Toledo. We suggest to see the exterior mechanical stairs which lead to the old city and the new exhibition and congress center.
